Roberta (Chuki) Williams
After graduating, Roberta worked for 10 years at Vista Nova School, Rondebosch as a junior therapist for 6 years and then as Head of Department for 4 years. She gained experience in working with children with cerebral palsy as well as children with learning and developmental difficulties. She completed the initial 2-month NDT qualification during this time as well as started training in Sensory Integration. During time taken to start a family, she undertook a number of locum positions at Paarl School, Brackenfell, Tafelberg School, Observatory and Sea Point, as well as at Vista Nova School.
Roberta completed her Sensory Integration training during this time. In 1994, she accepted a part-time post to work at Saplings Remedial Pre-primary with children with developmental challenges for a further 9 years. During this period she started with a private paediatric practice in Somerset West which dove-tailed with her work at Saplings. She went into full-time private practice in 2003 where she is currently still self-employed. Total working experience: 45 years.
